PopUps are useful for displaying more information and/or getting a response from the user while maintaining the context of the current screen.

A PopUp can be invoked from many types of events - such as clicking, double-clicking, hovering, opening a web page, closing a web page, etc.

A Pop-Under Page is the same as a Pop-Up except that after the Pop-Up is displayed the main web page is then brought forward so that the Pop-Up is left behind the main page.

PopUp Dialog Windows
PopUp Dialog windows are used to notify, to get confirmation and to get a some information from the user. Different results can be specified for responses to confirmations and requests.

Click on the links below for some simple examples:

Popup Notify   - Presents a notification message with only an "OK" button (no alternatives).

Popup Confirmation   - Presents a message to confirm or deny with "OK" and "Cancel" buttons. The results will differ depending on which button is clicked by the user.

Popup Information Request  - Presents a message with a single input for information as well as "OK" and "Cancel" buttons. The results will differ depending on which button is clicked by the user as well as the information entered by the user.

NOTE: Use a Pop-Up Web Page if you want the user to input more than one piece of information.

PopUp Web Pages
Pop-Up Web Pages are used to open another page from the current web page. The size of the pop-up as well as some browser features can be specified.

Pop-Up Web Pages are commonly used for advertisements, but can also be used to display related information and/or functionality, including asking a visitor to fill out a registration or survey, etc.

When dealing with Advertising Pop-Ups, a Pop Under is considered less offensive for unsolicited advertisement.
