DotNetNuke

Custom Modules enhance (or replace) core modules or provide new functionality. While there are great custom modules for sale, there are also a lot of very good modules available FREE or for minimal cost. A lot of third party sources for FREE modules require that you register in their site (again, most registrations are free, though some require a minimal fee).

FAQ

Where Are They

Quotes
The Quotes module displays a random quote each time it is displayed. The quote collection is a user populated table (quotation and author). See sample at the bottom left of the Home page.

The Quotes sample is extended with links to a Quotations page, which lists all the quotes and presents a Feedback module (feedback and submittals). A FREE custom module presents a SQL table for the quotation listing. The link above left on this page links to the Quotations page.

Simple Gallery
Simple to use, that is. This is a richly featured module to display albums of images (photos or otherwise). Sub-albums can be nested to any level. Titles, descriptions, defineable sizes, popup expansions and slide shows are some of its other features. See sample by clicking on the link above left.

This module package also contains a Random module that can be placed on an page and will display a random image from the selected Gallery each time the page is displayed. See sample on left side bar of this page.

Aggregator
The Aggregator module is a well done implementation of in-page content tabbing - a great real estate saver. The module provides for five (5) tabbing positions - top, bottom, left, right and inline - and its presentation can be flexibly styled with CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). Module Mirror
The Module Mirror module allows you to display the content of ANY module from ANY DotNetNuke portal (including your own) ANY page in your portal. See sample by clicking on the Quotes link above left. The top left of the Quotes page displays a Random Quote module, which is a Module Mirror of the Random Quote module on the Home page (bottom left).

Private Messages
The Private Messages module package consists of several integrated modules to coordinate private messaging between registered portal members.

- The Private Messages module presents an email-like interface to send, read, manage your messages and configure your settings (including an option to receive email notifications for new messages).

- The Send List module presents a listing of portal members with links to send them messages. See samples of both modules by clicking on the link above left (Private Messages).

- The Message Count module displays the counts of sent and received messages. It also has an option to display a popup notification of the number of unread messages when loading the page that this module is in. See sample on the top right of the Home page (the notification pops up in the lower left of the page).
