Portal Administration

There are two types of Aministrator Security Roles:

1) Administrator - Portal Administration Privileges for a specific portal.
2) SuperUser (or Host) - SuperUsers have full Portal Administration Privileges for all portals running under a given DotNetNuke portal installation as well as additional permissions, including creating new portals and managing installation-wide configurations.

Administrator privileges include maintenance of Site (Portal) Settings, Security Roles, User Accounts, Newsletters, Skins, Vendors, Site Files and Site Logs.

SuperUser privileges also include maintenance of all Portals (creation, deletion, host settings, etc. of all portals in the installation), installation-wide Host settings, Modules, SuperUser Accounts, Search Administration, Languages (for Localization), Lists, SQL Queries (against the portal installation database), Schedules and other installation-wide resources and settings.

All portals in a given DotNetNuke portal installation share the same code base and database.

Each portal can be defined as a Parent Portal with it's own domain name (e.g. www.MyDomain.com)
or a Child Portal with a URL off of the portal host's domain (e.g. www.hostdomain.com/MyPortalName).

Menus, Forms and a Control Panel are presented in your browser for Administration tasks.

Both Administrators and SuperUsers also have enhanced Content Management privileges.

See the Screen Snapshots (below) for Administration presentation examples.
